Homework 11/16/09-11/20/09

Blog Template:

Math: Do 30 minutes of Math, five nights per week, completing all corrections before moving on to new material. ALL CALCULATIONS MUST BE DONE IN YOUR MATH FOLDER; put in the generic formula (if there is one) and solve sequentially, substituting one thing at a time. IF YOU DO NOT SHOW ALL CALCULATIONS, YOU WILL COMPLETE THEM IN LUNCH BUNCH. If you have problems with homework, please call me between 7:00pm and 9:00 pm.

Reading/Writing:

Work continues on your Humorous Story according to your handout. Your first draft should be done on colored paper. Each night you will make changes that your editor has suggested and bring back a refined copy the next day for the next editor. There is no other homework for Reading/Writing besides this story. FINAL PAPER IS DUE ON 11/18/09.

Science:
Read and outline Chapter 2, Section 1Pgs. 44-53. Do Section 1 Assessment: Questions 1 & 2.

History:
Quiz on Chapter 7 & 8 on Monday, 11/16/09.

Wordly Wise: On Tuesday, 11/17/09, test on Wordly Wise #7. Prepare text for next week's test on Wordly Wise #8.

Latin:
Have your Latin folder set up with 6 dividers: Class Notes, Homework, Handouts, Quizzes/Tests, Projects, Research, plus lined paper. You may need to purchase a single hole punch and flashcards for vocabulary. Please punch one hole in the upper left hand corner of the card. Also, please make sure you have sharpened pencils for class.

High School Biology:
All students who have not visited classrooms must have prepared the data collection checklist for Tuesday, 11/10/09.
Please make a checklist in preparation for visiting lower school classrooms on Tuesday, November 17, between 9:30-10:30a.m, where you will collect data on surfaces touched and how many times it is touched, symptoms of illness in students, how many times a student touches her/his face, nose, eyes, how many students don’t cover their noses and mouths when they sneeze, and any other observations regarding preventative care. Please leave extra room for additions to this list.

For Tuesday, 11/17/09: Read and outline Ch. 3-1 and 3-2; Answer questions 1-5 on Page 50, and 6-10 on Page 51. Alex P., Katherine and Davide should have data collection sheets completed in table format for going to classrooms on Tuesday, 11/17/09. Please organize your Science Folder with the purple divider to section off Quarter 1 from Quarter 2. All who were absent should check their mailboxes for handouts. Thanks.

As always, if you have questions about material, or if you need help with anything, you can see me every day at lunch, before or after school, or you may call me in the evening between 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
